PipesCamp, Chennai

Posted on December 21, 2007.

PipesCamp is a one day event centered around Yahoo Pipes. Y! Pipes is a very innovative application by Yahoo to help end-users (who can’t code for nuts) and developers to create cool web apps, mash ups et al.

Imagine something like taking Suraksha’s feed, removing all the posts with my name on it, and geo tagging her posts and viewing it on a map in iPhone… all this within 5 minutes and 30 mouse clicks.

And that is just on application. There are so many things you can hack up with this nifty tool. So PipesCamp is all about this and more. If you are a hobbyist, a hacker, a developer or just an end user - PipesCamp should interest you. Apart from the sessions and workshop, Bosky is planning a Hack-Day showcasing the Y! Pipe hacks at the end of the day. Now that is bloody brilliant!

PS: Does anyone want to team up with me for the Pipes Hackday? Lemme know.

Sounds pretty cool. I’d love to go, but sadly I’m going out of town. I think Yahoo! showed up at my uni. as well and had a tutorial on this. Any ideas for a mash-up?
